Where impact kills
A disruptive architecture: the new benchmark for those who design impact protection and those who certify it.
One example: the helmet, designed to protect the skull from fracture, not the brain. Three standards, independent of one another — the European one for motorcycle helmets since 2024, NASA's for its astronauts, the US one for youth American football helmets from 2027 — have set a limit on how sharply an impact can change the speed at which the head rotates. Manufacturers have a deadline.
